As with everything in life, it requires hard work and commitment in order to succeed, but if you are prepared to put in the time, then the rewards are significant. I service about 12 clients on average and have always had a steady flow of consultancy projects coming through from them. I have not really undertaken any other business development activity. The real value is in the product or service development process. Get your client information guide right and the rest takes care of itself. My clients are all located in either Toronto or New York and this has helped me to reduce the travel time required. You can elect to do the work online, but I prefer to be on the client’s premises where possible.”
